Let those who can climb mountains climb them; let those who cannot climb them console themselves with denying their existence.” From Rogue of Gor, page 81

There was a time, I was out along upstate New York on a nature trail, walking with a bunch of friends. We were walking round talking like normal friends talk, letting the time pass in conversations, and my friend turned round and He said “Go climb a mountain.”. This was somewhat like the saying “Go fly a kite”. Well, being the smartallec for which I was, I turned round looked up at the mountain range to my left, off the side of the trails, and what do you know, I took off and I ran up to that mountain and I climbed it, just like He had said. I stood up at that top and looked down at the group laughing at them, but at the same time, I gazed out and looked over and about the trail, for which was so small from up where I was. The world seemed small from high up on the mountain. I felt strong, and I felt as if I had committed and done something. I felt like I had accomplished something. I felt proud and strong about myself, proud that I had climbed this mountain. This was the first time for which I had done this, and something for which perhaps changed the rest of my life. I then turned round, while I stood up on that mountain, and looked over my shoulder, and what was behind me, was a even bigger mountain. Two years later, I came back and I had accomplished that mountain.

When I climb a mountain, I feel a part of me comes closer to nature, comes closer to the plantet. There is a saying “Be One with the Rock”, for which translates with, be there with your hands before you and climb, to challenge the mountain, and accomplish that mountain. These challenges reflect on our own lives. The mountain can symbol many things within our own selves, and within our own lives. They are challenges for which we put before ourselves to achieve. There is no one to race, and there is noone to beat, just the mountain or ourselves. These challenges can come in many sizes, from a small hill, to the alps. Each day we face new mountains, and those for whom hit them head on, will gain strength from them. There is nothing for which we cannot do.

“The most complex technology for which we have discovered upon this world, came with a simple thought from someone’s mind, and anyone is capable of such thought, because we are all the same”

We are all special people, whom have the same capabilities inside us to achieve. Those whom press to the highest level, will always strive more to achieve, and will find themselves climbing the tallest mountains. There will be times for which we fall, and times for which we fail, but if we always work to strive harder, and climb harder, We will all be able to reach the highest peaks in our own lives.
